Newsletter 23 January 2012

Dear Webmaster
Welcome back! We trust that you had a good break and that you are excited about 2012!
The year got off to a flying start, so there is no better time to make sure that the information on your web pages is correct and up to date. Search your website for old timetables and outdated academic programme information, update your personnel list, and delete or archive all information that is irrelevant to 2012.
Correct closing dates for admissions
The closing dates for applications are also very important, since there have been several changes from the University’s side. To prevent any wrong information from being published and confusing prospective students, we suggest that you rather post a link to the following page with all the closing dates for 2012: http://web.up.ac.za/closing_dates and use this link for the admission information: http://web.up.ac.za/admission_information.
Academic programme information
The Web Office is currently busy uploading the 2013 programme information, so it will be available shortly. Should you want to link to the yearbooks and Faculty brochures, you can make use of the following hyperlinks:
If you have any enquiries from prospective students, it is very helpful to direct them to these pages where they can find all the information they need.
Web training for webmasters
The Web Office offers training sessions for new as well as existing webmasters on Tuesdays. These training sessions are scheduled for either 10:00 – 11:00 or 14:00 – 15:00, alternating every week to accommodate everyone. Wiki training will take place once a month. For more information or to RSVP for a training session, please visit: http://web.up.ac.za/webtraining.
Please remember that if you have any web related problem, query or request, you can go to http://web.up.ac.za/support to log a ticket.
Although time seems to fly, it never travels faster than one day at a time. Each day is a new opportunity to live your life to the fullest. In each waking day, you will find scores of blessings and opportunities for positive change. Do not let your TODAY be stolen by the unchangeable past or the indefinite future! Today is a new day! - Steve Maraboli
Wishing you all the best for 2012!
The Web Team
